Where NLBC Started
For a decade now, the theme of New Life has been changing lives through new life in Christ. The theme may be relatively new but ever since New Life’s birth in 1992, the mission of the church has always been the same – to seek and save those who are lost!
New Life was birthed by Pastor John Bailey in 1992.
Pastor John moved here with his family from Connecticut, working with Youngstown Baptist Church for the sole purpose of planting a church whose mission would be to help unchurched people find Christ and walk in newness of life. Pastor John had three teenage girls and his wife who helped reach out and build New Life.
Originally, in 1992 New Life met in a borrowed church building in Farrell, they then moved to the “Bair Foundation”, then once again to the Grange Hall. At 185 members, no longer fitting into the tiny grange – God saw fit to give Pastor John a vision for a church on Route 208 – right in the middle of a cornfield!
Currently our building has expanded through 4 phases of growth. We plan on being sensitive to God’s leading and continue to “make room” when needed.
It remains our prayer that God will use New Life Church, it’s members and its people, to reach thousands for Christ in our local community…and the world!
